Wonka Teaser Trailer previews Timothée Chalamet’s rendition of Gene Wilder’s Iconic Song

Warner Bros. has released a new version Wonka teaser trailer for the highly anticipated musical introduction to Roald Dahl’s iconic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story.

The last video features a clip from one of Timothée Chalamet’s concerts as a chocolatier title. It gives fans a preview of the Oscar nominee’s performance of “Pure Imagination,” first played by Gene Wilder in the 1971 adaptation of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The teaser also emphasizes Willy Wonka’s relationship with his mother, played by Sally Hawkins, who seems to be the one who pushed him to follow his chocolate dream.

What to expect in Wonka?

“This incredible and inventive big screen adaptation will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, full of ideas and determined to change the world one delightful bite at a time – proving that the best things in life are ‘ start with a dream, and if so. you are lucky to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible,” read the synopsis.

Based on the wonderful characters created by Dahl, the film will focus on young Willy Wonka and what happened to him before he opened the most famous chocolate factory in the world. The prequel will be directed by Chalamet as a young version of the owner of the Chocolate Factory in an unusual way. The film also stars Hawkins, Matthew Baynton, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rich Fulcher, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Keegan-Michael Key, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell , Rakhee Thakrar , and Ellie White.

Wonka is directed by Paddington filmmaker Paul King from a screenplay he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby. It is produced by David Heyman, Luke Kelly, and Alexandra Derbyshire.
